Al-Bireh, Palestine – The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced Monday evening the death of Amir Ahmad Jawad Jaber (15), who succumbed to critical gunshot wounds sustained during an Israeli military raid on the Umm Al-Sharayet neighborhood in the city of Al-Bireh, in the occupied West Bank.
In a statement, the ministry said the teenager was shot twice in the head and chest—after Israeli forces opened fire during the raid. He was transferred to hospital in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries.
According to Palestinian sources, Israeli forces entered the Umm Al-Sharayet neighborhood and opened fire directly at the child, inflicting life-threatening injuries that ultimately proved fatal despite medical efforts.

The incident comes amid continuing Israeli military operations across the West Bank, where civilian casualties, including children, have continued to be reported.
In a report released Monday, the Israeli human rights organization B'Tselem said Israeli forces killed 54 Palestinian children and teenagers in the West Bank during 2025, noting that most of them were killed in circumstances in which they posed no immediate threat.
According to the organization, 21 children and teenagers were killed despite not participating in confrontations, even in areas where clashes involving stone-throwing or other incidents were taking place. Another 13 were killed after allegedly throwing stones toward Israeli forces or roads, despite no injuries being reported among Israeli personnel.
Palestinian and international human rights organizations continue to call for independent investigations into the killing of civilians, including children, and for accountability for any violations of international humanitarian law.
